In order to counter the rise of early Christian, he started a widely accepted religion whom we came to know as Roman Catholic and changed the sabbath from Saturday to Sunday.

Feeling moody right now, so i will be snide... (feel like having some fun now)
Sunday is not sabbath... Or at least i am sure that most protestants do not claim it to be sabbath. Now why do we meet on Sundays? it's because we are lazy bums, with worldly attachments preventing us from meeting every other day. There are no restrictions to which day to meet. The churches in the east coast meet on Friday or Saturday, and i know of more than 1 church in Penang and KL with regular meetings on Saturday.
Now why Sunday... probably because it's practical, and humans do not like to inconvinience themselves too much. The only exhortation in the Bible is to meet regularly. and apparently someone decided that once a week is often enough. (some meet 4-5 times a week despite their schedule though) | | martianunlimited | 3. RE: Why Christian worship on Sunday? | 2007-01-06 20:07:27 p/s... sorry for being cheeky... Christ rose again on a Sunday (apparently...) this gives added motivation to remember his death, burial and resurrection on a Sunday. (but what i says about us being lazy bums is still true) | |
